Belgian E-ID [VS2008 C#]

Hi there,

today i wanted to implement the Belgian E-ID so the program reads the user information from his E-ID and we don't need to enter all the user information manually. Our gouvernement puts some code and examples at our disposal on there website . But after testing the dotNet code in Visual Studio 2008 it failed! Now again this is a Vista 64bit issue, like i mentioned before we have to put the debug mode in the Configuration Manager on 86x and also it is'nt sufficient to add the reference (beid35libCS.dll) to the project. You have to manually copy the 3 files

beid35libCS.xml
beid35libCS.dll
beid35libCS_Wrapper.dll

to you x86\debug projectfolder. After compiling it works!

720p .mkv not playing fluidly? [DailyFix]

Yesterday i tried to play a BluRay rip MKV file (around 5gig) on my dualcore 2.0GHz, 4GB Ram, GeForce 9600M GT and it wasn't working like it should have!! I wasn't able to watch the movie because the image wasn't fluidly with alot of hitches and the movie was out of sync with the sound.

Apperently VLC isn't a good player for big .mkv files. Instead use Windows Media Player CLASSIC! In this guide you can tweak your Media Player Classic into a fine-working cinema!

Today i encoutered this error. It was a known error in VS2005 when you use several projects in 1 solution. And there was a workaround (not-handy) to fix this problem. But when you encouter this in VS2008 it's very eazy to fix, it actually tells you that 1 or more References isn't valid anymore. That's all!! So simply open your projects' references and fix those references who have an exclamation point!

Database doesn't update [Visual Studio 2008 C#]

In my project I try to work with the new tools M$ has given us! Why type code when we can drag and drop or click on stuff in Visual Studio? For this little database app i used a Local Database from Visual Studio cause that way the Data Connections are directly and visualy represented in the Server Explorer window. After adding a new database, a DataSet is automatically generated. I also add a TableAdapter so the connection-settings don't have to be inserted manually and I add a new insertQuery to add a new record to the database. We actually end up with only 2 lines of code:

databaseDataSetTableAdapters.databaseTableAdapter pta = new project. databaseDataSetTableAdapters.databaseTableAdapter();

pta.InsertQuery(patient_id, information_id);

So far so good... I actually believed it could be this simple but offcourse I was wrong...

When i builded the app everythings seemed to work great but when I closed the build and checked the Server Explorer for new records, I didn't found anything! After several hours of sweating I eventually found the problem on this M$ helppage:

The problem we've encountered was that Visual Studio copies the database to the debug folder to be able to build the application. By default Visual Studio 2008 puts the behaviour to: "Copy if newer" and overwrites the old database file. By putting the value to: "don't copy" and moving the database file to the debug folder we can finally continu our journey :)

This works at first, but when we change the database and add/edit/remove tables we encounter the same problem.

The solution i used was simply to not include the database file in the project. So i manage my database with SQL Server 2008 Express and don't add/edit/remove tables in the database using VS2008! Probably there is an eazy fix to this problem but i don't wanne spend more time on this problem!

Hello, I'm programming a little database application which inserts a new record into the SQL database. When trying to run the app i stumbled on this error:

System.DllNotFoundException was unhandled

Message="Unable to load DLL 'sqlceme35.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)"

After some googling i found that this is apparently a 64bit problem (I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit). The solution to the problem is to change the Active Solution Platform in the Configuration Manager to x86. This changes the Project context and enabled the solution to be build.
